Tools for Social Aggregation //.

This project consists of two custom built pay phones. The project explores the evolution of communication from a historic standpoint that is meshed with current models. When a user begins interaction; a three stage process occurs: The user lifts the phone, and dials a telephone number. This triggers sound playback of previous users recorded reply's. Lastly, the current user is invited to leave a reply to the sound playback that has just occurred. Playback and recording occur within a varying system based on users initial interactions. If the number a user enters has never been dialed the user is presented with a sound clip from the corresponding area code, and is invited to record a reply onto the entered number. If the phone number has been entered before, the user is presented with the clip that was previously recorded onto that number and is invited to record onto a blank space within the entered area code. this allows for the formation of a communication aggregate. The project is initially populated with selected statements from current modes of internet communication. This internal dialogue becomes a freeform enrtyless, exitless, looping platform for communication operating in the vernacular of current communication systems.
